What is a TR1 or Transfer Deed?
Formal land registry document prepared by conveyancers – transfers property from seller to buyer – need to be agreed by both parties and then signed by the seller before completion can take place – usually signed between exchange and completion, though some conveyancers now get this done before exchange as if it is not signed by the seller then completion cannot take place. Needs to be witnessed by an independent adult witness who should also sign the document.
