Buying A House Or Flat

That is correct – common misconception that deeds are sent to buyer on completion – they are in fact sent to conveyancer – once the conveyancer has registered your ownership and received a copy of the completed registration then all the deeds will be sent to either you or your mortgage lender, depending on your lender’s requirements – be aware that it may take a long time (up to a few months) for the completed registration to be received as some registrations are complex. Your conveyancer should be able to keep you updated. Sometimes registrations can get left at the bottom of the pile so you may need to chase.

Also be aware that you may not receive very much at all – most title deeds are now obsolete and your mortgage lender may well insist on holding some of the others
