Buying A House Or Flat
What is a chancel repair search?
This indicates whether your property might have a chancel repair liability. This would mean that you could be compelled to pay for repairs to a parish church and in theory this liability can attach to any property, even new properties. The Church of England does enforce chancel repair liability in the rare cases where it is exists. As a result of this medieval hangover, insurance companies have devised policies to cover the remote risk.
