I want to sell my house privately. Is this a good idea and how do I do it?
It depends – you are likely to pay far less in terms of commission, but you will need to do a lot more work yourself and it will probably take longer to agree a buyer. Will need to carry out any negotiations yourself. Selling through an agent will be quicker, but you pay a lot more. Can combine the two approaches to cover all angles.
Many ways to sell privately – can advertise on-line, in local papers, stick notices up in shop windows, put a sign outside your house. You will probably need to show possible buyers round yourself.
