Selling Your House

Where are my deeds?

Where are my deeds?

One of three places – with the conveyancer who acted when you bought the house, with your mortgage lender or they would have been sent to you when your purchase was registered. If you ask your old conveyancer where they are they should be able to tell you – or you can ask your new solicitors to contact them and ask.

It’s not the end of the world if you can’t find them, as most can be replaced, but it will take time and money. It is worth having a good look around at the start of your transaction as it can save a lot of time and money further down the line.
