House Prices Up 0.5%

LONDON - UK HOUSE prices climbed 0.5 per cent in October, marking the sixth consecutive monthly rise, although at a slower pace, a major mortgage lender reported on Friday.

The Nationwide Building Society said that the strong upward momentum in property values seen over the summer is showing some signs of moderating.

October's rise followed an increase of 0.9 per cent in September and 1.4 per cent in both July and August.
